The only semi-interesting part was the end plot twist. His relationship with Cara as well feels more like him gawking at her experiences and her just letting him in. Stephen doesn't really feel any kinship to them.

For example the binding "friendship" mentioned in the prologue takes span over a few weeks and is more suspicious and dangerous. Furthermore many relationships in the book aren't very well-developed. There were instances in which Stephen would state an idea of his, a conscious thought, that felt more like the author's idea as opposed to the character Stephen's thought process. Whatever the age, if you're into occult themes with supernatural elements, maybe consider checking the book out.Īnyways I found the book lacking, dull, and the characters not very well developed.

I'm personally not a fan of superstition or fantasy fiction, but I was when I was younger. I would recommend this book to younger audiences.
